An examination of life in a small Texas town.

Sue me

So I changed my mind. This blog will become a documentation and skewering of small town life.

Here is an example of the apathy rampant here. Historic structures such as this are left to rot. The parking lot is routinely used, although I'm not quite sure if the people parking there own the lot.

That is a beautiful structure. It is a shame someone doesn't rehabilitate it.

It's a shame you feel "trapped." Have you tried visiting any of the local churches or the businesses on the square? There are some really nice people in Chico.

Actually, with a little research, you would discover that this, along with many of the other historic, dilapidated Chico buildings, are owned by Steve Thornton. He is a man that does not live in Chico and isn't particulary concerned with repairing his buildings. The Council has been battling him for years and is finally getting him pushed in the right direction. Believe me, the Chico residents want to see these beautiful buildings repaired.
